During the planning phase for this studio, we first decided that it needed to be both unique and practical. Urban locations in the Seattle area were considered, but instead we settled on a rural location that seemed better suited to our philosophy. We felt that the creative environment we were building should be removed from distraction and take full advantage of the natural environment that makes the Northwest so unique.
Located on four acres of land in the Snohomish hills just 30 minutes north of Seattle, Washington, StudioNorth is the company’s flagship facility with 1600 square feet of recording space. The private, wooded grounds and walking paths are conducive to both aggressive creativity and contemplative relaxation and are fully open to our guests. Inside, you’ll find a mix of historical vintage gear, state-of-the-art digital equipment, and custom designed pieces for special applications.
The comfortable, 12-person control room is spacious and easy on the ear for those long sessions. StudioNorth’s sound rooms allow for flexible recording techniques to be applied when needed. The lounge and exterior grounds provide balance to the intense focus of recording.
